On a hot summer day, a thirsty crow flew all over the fields looking for water. For a long time, he could find nothing.
Just as he was about to give up, he saw a water pitcher below a tree. He flew down to it with great hope.
But when he looked inside, his heart sank. There was some water in the pitcher, but it was at the very bottom. His beak couldn't reach it no matter how hard he tried.
The crow tried tipping the pitcher over, but it was too heavy. He tried reaching further, but he almost fell in. He tried everything he could think of, but nothing worked.
"I'm so thirsty," thought the crow. "There must be a way to get this water!"
Just then, he saw some small pebbles on the ground nearby. An idea popped into his clever head.
The crow picked up a pebble with his beak and dropped it into the pitcher. Then another, and another. He worked steadily, dropping pebble after pebble into the water.
Slowly but surely, the water level began to rise! Each pebble displaced a little water, pushing it higher and higher.
After many pebbles, the water finally rose to the top of the pitcher. The clever crow drank the cool water and flew away happily, refreshed and satisfied.
"Where there's a will, there's a way!" he thought to himself.
**Moral Lesson:** Don't give up when things seem impossible. Use your intelligence and keep trying—you'll find a solution if you think creatively.
